Hawaiʻi Foodbank is committed to taking all reasonable steps to ensure that information provided to us is handled in a safe and secure manner. We value your support and are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we gather about you, how we use it and the safeguards we have in place to protect it.

What information do we collect and how do we use it?

When you visit our website, we collect some non-identifying basic information. This includes total number of visitors, pages viewed and other non-identifying information. We use this collective information to improve our website and to make your experience on our website as smooth as possible.

Donations made online to us are processed through a secure network connection. When you make a donation online – we ask for your name, address, phone number, email address and credit card information. We use your credit card number and address to process your donation(s) and to verify credit card data. We use your mailing address to send you tax-deductible receipts. Your phone number is used to contact you if we need to verify your donation information. We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not shared with outside parties. We do not use your phone number to do telephone solicitations.

Privacy of online registration(s):

Should you decide to register online, your information is encrypted using SSL, an industry standard secure technology. This encryption is designed to prevent the theft or interception of the information you provide. SSL encryption is indicated on your web browser by the display of a lock or key on the browser status bar.

Hawaiʻi Foodbank does not sell, trade, rent or share your information with any other entity. This website collects your email address for the sole purpose of sending registration confirmations.

Does Hawaiʻi Foodbank share donor information and names with other organizations?

No. The only mailing list that your name will be added to is our own. From time to time, we may publish donor lists in our Annual Report and other publications, but we do not include addresses or other contact information. If at any time you wish to have your name removed from our mailing list, or prefer not to have your name included in the publications, please contact our donor services team at 808-836-3600 or donorservices@hawaiifoodbank.org, and we will be happy to honor your request.

Hawaiʻi Foodbank does not share your personal information with any third party. It is our policy not to sell, trade or rent your personal information to anyone. Hawaiʻi Foodbank does not share your information with telemarketing centers. We do not use telephone marketing to solicit donations.

We handle your donation with care.

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from a child without consent from the child’s parent(s).

Can you make an anonymous donation?

Yes. You can send anonymous donations simply by sending a money order to us at the address above. If you do not give your name and address we will be unable to send you a tax-deductible receipt. You may also send us a check or credit card info and request your name be anonymous and not published. We will not add you to our mailing list or ask for further donations.

Privacy of children:

Hawaiʻi Foodbank does not knowingly gather any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. You must be 13 years of age or older to access the website. Hawaiʻi Foodbank has no interest in collecting information from children under the age of 13.

Modification of Privacy Policy:

Hawaiʻi Foodbank may change this Privacy Policy at any time, by posting the changed or amended Privacy Policy on this website. Your continued viewing of or use of this website following the posting of any changes to this Privacy Policy will signify your assent to any such changes or amendments.
