Since its inception, Food Drive Day has been Hawai‘i Foodbank’s annual flagship event, where individuals could drop off both food and monetary donations at various sites around the island to support people facing hunger within our community. This year, we’re asking our community to walk with us into a newly imagined event with the same goal: to help feed people in need across the state. Beginning on August 22nd, people will be able to donate shelf-stable food at participating locations (See List) island-wide through August 29th. This giving opportunity will lead up to the main Food Drive Day event on August 29th, which will take place at the center stage of Oʻahu’s three major shopping centers: Ala Moana Center, Pearlridge Center, and Ka Makana Aliʻi. We are inviting the public to join us at these locations to celebrate the generosity of our community and learn more about Hawaiʻi Foodbank’s mission. At each location, we’ll have live entertainment, giveaways and educational opportunities. Ensuring our neighbors and families in Hawaiʻi have access to nourishing food is a group effort, and we look forward to celebrating that partnership with everyone on August 29th!
