Volunteer With Us

The movement to end hunger cannot happen alone. Volunteers are one of the most integral pillars of our operational framework, and we need the help of groups and individuals to provide safe and healthy food to our keiki, kūpuna, families and neighbors facing hunger. Whether you’re looking to volunteer as an individual, bring your group or organization for a team-building experience, assist with food distribution in the community, or fulfill court-mandated service hours — we have various opportunities available that match your schedule and interests. With your help, we can provide the nourishment our neighbors need to improve their quality of life.

Start a Fundraiser

Create lasting impact by organizing your own fundraiser to support Hawaiʻi Foodbank’s mission. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, commemorating an anniversary, hosting a community event, or rallying your workplace around a cause, fundraising amplifies your individual giving power and engages others in the fight against hunger. From online campaigns to benefit events, your creativity and passion can drive significant resources toward feeding families across Oʻahu and Kauaʻi. Every dollar you raise helps us reach more neighbors in need, proving that when our community comes together with purpose, we can create meaningful change in addressing food insecurity.

Host a Food Drive

Hosting a food drive is a powerful way to connect with your family, friends, neighborhood, office, school, club, congregation and others around our shared mission to nourish our ʻohana. Whether you’re organizing a small gathering among friends or mobilizing your entire workplace, food drives create immediate impact while building lasting connections within your community. Every can, box and bag of food collected through your efforts directly supports our families and neighbors facing food insecurity — transforming your generosity into meals that strengthen our neighbors and demonstrate the power of collective action in addressing hunger.

Drop Off Food

Because of Hawaiʻi’s unique geographical location, physical food donations remain an important part of Hawaiʻi Foodbank’s operational model. Your food donations help us quickly stock our shelves and maintain the flow of food to those in need. We obtain food from manufacturers and growers, distributors and wholesalers, grocery stores, as well as community food drives and individual donations. Whether you plan to make a difference on your own, as a member of a team or on behalf of your business — there are a variety of ways for you to donate food.

Corporate Partners

Building meaningful partnerships is critical to our mission, and we are grateful for our generous and mission-driven corporate partners who have aligned their organizational goals and priorities with our mission to make impactful change. Businesses from various sectors choose Hawaiʻi Foodbank as a charitable partner because of our long-standing investment in nourishing lives and putting an end to hunger. Whether through employee volunteer programs, food drives, fundraising campaigns, or strategic sponsorships — we can work together to create customized partnership opportunities that maximize your impact while supporting your corporate values.

Nearly 1 in 3 Hawaiʻi households are struggling with food insecurity.

In 34% of households with children, one or more keiki are food insecure.
