With nearly 1 in 3 households in Hawai‘i already facing food insecurity, the shutdown adds new urgency for families, federal employees, active-duty military members and contractors who may be experiencing paycheck disruptions or distributions in other benefits and services. Whether you’re navigating a temporary furlough or facing longer-term uncertainty, you don’t have to go through it alone. Hawai‘i Foodbank and our partners are actively sourcing more food and expanding support to meet the growing need.
If you or someone you know needs help accessing food, we have a variety of existing food assistance opportunities, along with pop-up food distributions, available nearly every day of the week. We are so grateful for the ongoing support of our donors and to the Hawai’i State Government for coming together to make sure that no one in Hawai‘i goes hungry.
Hawai‘i Foodbank is hosting a variety of pop-up food distributions to provide additional support to families and neighbors during the government shutdown.
