Government Shutdown Support

If you’ve been affected by the federal government shutdown, Hawai‘i Foodbank is here to help.

With nearly 1 in 3 households in Hawai‘i already facing food insecurity, the shutdown adds new urgency for families, federal employees, active-duty military members and contractors who may be experiencing paycheck disruptions or distributions in other benefits and services. Whether you’re navigating a temporary furlough or facing longer-term uncertainty, you don’t have to go through it alone. Hawai‘i Foodbank and our partners are actively sourcing more food and expanding support to meet the growing need.

We also recognize the uncertainty surrounding the release of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in November. If you rely on SNAP, please know that we are preparing to provide additional support should benefits be delayed or disrupted. You are not alone — Hawai‘i Foodbank is committed to ensuring that you and your ‘ohana have access to the food and resources you need.

If you or someone you know needs help accessing food, we encourage you to explore the resources below. From food pantries and meal programs to emergency financial assistance and community support, there are options available to help you stay nourished and supported during this challenging time.
