Your support on Food Drive Day makes it possible to help provide food for more 600,000 nutritious meals.
More than one quarter of the food Hawai‘i Foodbank distributes is fresh, healthy produce – and you are helping us provide even more. This year’s Food Drive Day campaign was dedicated to raising funds to provide our families with more fresh produce. That means your support will help improve access to healthy food for the most vulnerable members of our ‘ohana.
Together with our extraordinary community and a generous matching gift from First Hawaiian Bank, this year’s Food Drive campaign raised nearly $275,000 and gathered over 18,000 pounds of food — making it possible to provide food more than 600,000 nutritious meals.
Donations made toward this year’s Food Drive Day will go towards the purchase of nutritious fruits and vegetables that will nourish local families, keiki and kūpuna.

Donate online or join us from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at one of these five locations on O‘ahu that will be accepting monetary and food donations.

Looking For a Stylish Way to Support Food Drive Day?
Did you know Hawai‘i Foodbank releases a limited-edition t-shirt every year? This year’s special t-shirt is made in collaboration with Honolulu-based artist Kamea Hadar. Hadar’s artwork for the Foodbank, titled “Nourish,” depicts a heart-shaped kalo leaf – representing the important role food plays not only in providing physical nourishment but also in nourishing a deeper connection with each other, our sense of place and a better tomorrow.
Proceeds from t-shirt sales allow us to provide more meals and support to the communities we serve.

Ensuring there is always enough food to feed our communities is an ongoing challenge, and we are constantly exploring creative ways to match supply with demand. That's how Food Drive Day was born. Thirty years ago, Hawai‘i Foodbank launched the inaugural Food Drive Day at Restaurant Row to help gather more food for Hawai‘i’s hungry. The community embraced our humble event and it ultimately grew into the highly anticipated, annual fundraising effort it is today.
Over the past three decades, Food Drive Day has grown to unite businesses, organizations, groups and individuals all over Hawai‘i in one common cause – nourish our ‘ohana. Food Drive Day now holds collection sites all over Hawai‘i, as well as fosters more than a dozen unique Food Drive Coalitions. These Coalitions consist of companies and organizations within the same industry, and they work together to gather food and raise funds on behalf of Hawai‘i Foodbank in the months leading up to Food Drive Day.

Food Drive Day is Hawai‘i Foodbank’s largest and most highly-anticipated community engagement event. Food Drive Day raises awareness about hunger in Hawai‘i and rallies support around Hawai‘i Foodbank’s mission to nourish our ‘ohana today and end hunger tomorrow.
